3D printed lighting
3D printed lighting, finished by hand
Rollo Studio is the Valencia lighting studio of designer Rollo Bryant (Design Academy Eindhoven, 2020). We use 3D printing to make forms that would be impossible any other way, then finish every piece by hand. Two materials, two collections: the glossy U· Collection in plant-based PLA, and the Sand Editions in quartz sand.

Two processes
printed in PLA, printed in sand
U· Collection. Each piece is 3D printed tile by tile in plant-based PLA, sanded and filled, then painted professionally with a thick high-gloss clear coat over the colour, in any of 35 curated colours or any RAL code. Back in the studio the parts are assembled and grouted with real grout, left visible on purpose.
Sand Editions. Forms generated digitally, too complex to make any other way, are printed layer by layer in fine quartz sand using binder-jet additive manufacturing ~ a rarely used technology that allows large, highly detailed pieces with a raw, mineral texture. Each one is finished and wired by hand in the studio.

Questions
Do you sell 3D print files?
No. Every piece is a finished, wired lamp, designed by Rollo Bryant and finished in our Valencia studio.
What is the difference between the U· Collection and the Sand Editions?
The U· Collection is printed in plant-based PLA and painted to a high gloss in any colour, made to order. The Sand Editions are printed in quartz sand with binder-jet technology and keep the raw texture and natural colour of the sand.
What light sources do they use?
U· pieces use integrated LEDs (2000K or 2700K, 3-12 W, dimmable). Sand pieces use standard LED bulbs, such as G9 on the Aureole Sun VXS or E27 on Dune and the larger Sun pieces.
Where are they made?
In our studio in Valencia, Spain. The showroom is open by appointment.
Can I commission a piece?
Yes: hospitality, residential or a colour matched to a fabric swatch. See bespoke + commissions or write to info@rollostudio.com.
